SERVICE LEARNINGEXPERIENCE
Since 2023, I have been actively involved in service learning initiatives that connect students with meaningful community engagement, aligning with the values of empathy, responsibility, and action.
In 2023, I worked with middle school students during Service Emphasis Week at Tumaini la Maisha, based at Muhimbili National Hospital. Our focus was on supporting children undergoing cancer treatment. Together with the students, we designed simple, nutritious dietary plans suited to the needs of the children. We also prepared fresh juices and smoothies, ensuring they were both healthy and enjoyable. This experience helped students develop compassion and a deeper understanding of health, nutrition, and the challenges faced by young patients and their families.
In 2026, I further extended my involvement in service learning by working with senior school students at Matumaini Salvation Army during Service Emphasis Week. Over the course of a week, we engaged with children with diverse disabilities through interactive activities, games, and daily support. The experience encouraged students to build meaningful connections, practice inclusion, and appreciate the importance of respect and dignity for all individuals.
These service learning experiences reflect my commitment to developing students who are not only academically competent but also caring, reflective, and actively engaged in their communities.
